About QualDoc

To comply with the requirements of ISO 9001 or ISO14001, you must be able to prove to an external auditor that each copy of your policies, procedures and standard documents is up to date. In practice, this means knowing where each copy is.

It is possible to organise document control using paper methods, but this can be time consuming and complex.

QualDoc is a document control Windows software package that complies with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

Using procedures presented "on-line" on the computer screen, QualDoc and its associated procedures produce a number of audit trails for documents generated within an organisation, including.

  • files of completed and signed document registration and change request forms for all controlled documents;
  • a file of checkoff sheets confirming implementation of updates sent to document holders;
  • a disk record of every transaction carried out using QualDoc, and its date and time: this "Audit Report" can be printed at any time as evidence of compliance with ISO 9001/14001.

QualDoc generates a Checkoff sheet automatically whenever a document is issued, updated or recalled from circulation. The sheet is sent out to registered document holders, whose signature and return is recorded. QualDoc automates the process of following up on holders who do not return sheets within a predefined period.

QualDoc contains document control procedures in the form of flowcharts so that by clicking the boxes in the flowcharts you can get more detailed information about each step of the process. A comprehensive manual with detailed written procedures is also provided with the package to supplement the on-line help available.

QualDoc reduces document control to a purely clerical task.
